Walking Boot.
Cam Walkers differ by either being pre-inflated or adjustable
inflation. Adjustable allows the patient to inflate the air bladder to the needed compression and stabilization (often
called AIR Cam Walkers). Pre-inflated do not allow for this adjustment but are at a fixed compression. There are
also CAM walkers without air compression. The other way Cam Walkers differ is they are either fixed at a 90 deg
angle or they are adjustable. For the most part a fixed is preferred for most patients. Some Cam Walkers allow
the ankle angle to adjust to the natural bend of the foot. You need to ask your health care provide if the ankle needs
to be fixed or allowed to move. Cam Walkers also differ by the base of the foot. Some are wide for a comfort fit
and some have memory foam to conform to the foot.
